Welcome to the Knee on Belly podcast, hosted by Nate, Jon and Brandon! We cover all things Mixed Martial Arts and then some. Our typical episodes can cover topics such as recent UFC events, current news in the MMA scene, BJJ, Boxing or even the occasional marvel movie that just came out. We are excited to share our passion of MMA with others out there interested in gaining some different perspectives from a few guys who like to talk, laugh and argue about all sorts of different topics. It's almost like a broken record for us as this point but man does it suck when bad judging outshines a great night of fights! Your KOB boys are back with another great episode so let's get to it! We start things off discussing the unfortunate ending to UFC 282's main event. That fight ending in a Split Draw after one judge gave the fight to Anklaev, one to Blachowicz, and another saw it as a tie. We also discuss the aftermath of this fight that lead to Dana White annoucning that the vacant light heavy weight title will now be fought for by Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill in Brazil early next year. And sadly the main event wasnt the only fight on the card that ended in confusing judging, so we do a deeper dive on how judging is effecting fights and even the way some fighters might chose to fight. We add to the judging issues as we move into the next fight where Paddy Pimblett earned a decision victory that lead to some people calling it a robbery and others calling it a close fight. After that we give a run down of the rest of UFC 282, which had some amazing performances. From there we move into our picks and predictions for UFC Vegas 66 headlined by Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland. This will be the last card of the year so we hope it ends with a bang! Finally we end the episode with some news including a continuation on the James Krause situation, TJ Dillashaw announcing his retirement, and more. As we get closer to the end of the year, the cards keep coming! UFC Orlando did not disappoint! We start things off talking about the amazing main event that saw Stephen Thompson outstrike Kevin Holland in what's sure to be one of the fights of the year. We also talk about RDA's win, Sergei Pavlovich putting the HW division on notice and Phil Rowe coming up big! From there we give our picks and predictions for UFC 282. Originally suppose to be headlined by the 205 title rematch between Glover and Jiri, we'll now see Magomed Ankalaev fight Jan Blachowicz for the belt. Also on the card some big names including Paddy Pimblett, Darren Till and Bryce Mitchell. Finally we get to what's becoming the biggest story in all of MMA, the suspension of Coach James Krause for his alleged involvement with insider information for UFC bets. This situation also saw a fighter get released as well. Also in the news we talk Nate Diaz officially becoming a free agent and Aljamain Sterling announcing Henry Cejudo as his next opponent. We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend, we are very thankful for all of you! After a weekend off, UFC is back this coming weekend with an amazing fight night card headlined by Wonderboy Thompson vs Kevin Holland. We give our picks and predictions for that fight, the co-main featuring Bryan Barberena and Rafael Dos Anjos, and a mystery fight pick. From there we dig into some interesting news including Jiri Prochazka getting injured and dropping his title, the fight that is replacing the original Light Heavyweight title fight, Conor's potential exemptions with USADA and more! Finally we end things with a world famous "Facts, Don't Care About Your Feelings" by our very own Brandon. In this segment he covers what he feels to be a take over by the discipline sambo in MMA. It's getting closer to the end of the year but your Knee On Belly Boys are still here! We have a great episode for you today so lets get into it. Starting things off we tell you about our experience in Chicago attending Bellator 288. We enjoyed everything about it and witnessed some amazing fights! Next we give our recap of UFC Fight Night Lewis vs Spivac which unfortunately lost it's main event just hours before the match due to a Derrick Lewis illness. More than ready to step up, we saw a main event featuring Kennedy Nzechukwu getting a huge TKO victory. Also having a great showing was Muslim Salikhov and Jack Della Maddalena. From there we move into the a fun World Cup inspired game were we answered questioned that corresponded with a World Cup fact! Finally we cover all of the happenings in the news include the unfortunate passing of Anthony Johnson, some fight announcements and the developing story of James Krause getting blocked from cornering. What a weekend of fights! We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend and boy do we have an episode for you! We obviously have to start the episode off with the amazing comeback victory for the new middleweight champion, Alex Pereira! We discuss what this can mean for Israel moving forward and how it can effect his legacy. From there we speak on the co-main submission victory for Zhang Weili and what's next for her. We give our opinions on what's next for Dustin Poirier after his submission victory over Michael Chandler. On top of that, a full recap of the rest of the main card and some prelim action. Next we give our picks and predictions for UFC Fight Night Lewis vs Spivac, and Brandon picks a mystery fight for us to pick as well. We then have a super fun game where we have to identify the fighter that belongs to the presented nickname. Let's go everyone we have huge weekend of fights coming up! But first we get into last saturday's fight night that saw Amanda Lemos getting a huge standing TKO victory over Marina Rodriguez. We also saw Neil Magny submit Daniel Rodriguez and claim the UFC record for most wins in welterweight history. From there we move into our picks and predictions for UFC 281 headlined by the grudge match between champion Israel Adesanya and challenger Alex Pereira. We spend a good amount of time discussing what this fight can mean for Stylebender's legacy and Pereira's for that matter. We also give our insight on Zhang Weili fight against champion Carla Esparza, and lightweight contenders Michael Chandler verse Dustin Poirier. From there, we finish up with the news that includes fight announcements, what might be next for Jon Jones and some boxing news! We are back with an update on the happenings of a huge friend of the show Haisam Rida. On this episode he talks about his upcoming match with fellow African countrymen Luke Griffith. He speaks on overcoming the mental side of competing and how he utilizes visualization to combat those intrusive thoughts. We dig into what it's been like cross training in Austin, Texas with the B Team and rolling with some of the top guys in the world. When it rains it pours with UFC main event injuries but none the less, we are here to talk about it. We start things off speaking on the unfortunate main event that saw Calvin Kattar injuring his knee to the point of not being able to stand. That gave Arnold Allen the TKO victory in a fashion that you could tell he wasn't happy with. Nate sets up a question of whether or not the UFC and commission should be doing more to stop fights before fighters get further damaged. So many times we've seen tough fighter try to grit through an injury only to hurt themselves more. After giving our recap of the other fights on the card, we move into our picks/predictions for UFC Fight Night Marina Rodriguez vs Amanda Lemos. Outside that main event we also give out picks for Neil Magny vs Daniel Rodriguez and Grant Dawson vs Mark Madsen. From there we move into the news including Jake Paul's victory over Anderson Silva, Tj Dillashaw's injury, a retirement and a huge announcement from Bellator and Rizin! This episode is jam packed with our break down and opinions of UFC 280! But we actually start things off with a new segment that we are super excited for, where our very own Jon writes a summery of the card in poem form! After he sets the tone for the episode with an eloquently worded and performed summation we get into what you all came for. That is Islam Makhachev's perfectly executed submission win over Charles Oliveira. We dig into what this could mean for both fighters moving forward, with a big focus being on the potential legacy building for Islam. Not to be out done, we speak on Aljamain's huge TKO victory over TJ Dillashaw. From there we move into the fight before that featured Sean O'Malley winning a majority decision over Petr Yan. As much as we thought we'd be seeing some clarity in the division after these 2 fights, we are actually left with more questions. We speak on the rest of the main card and include some talk about Belal Muhammad's victory over Sean Brady. From there we give our picks/predictions for UFC Fight Night Kattar vs Allen.
