In what might be one of our favorite Mat Talks yet, we talk about the life of our pal, Daniel Head! With this interview we do a deep dive into one of the Indiana pioneers of MMA. Starting from his younger days, we talk about his short notice fights, traveling for training and making it on to The Ultimate Fighter! Dan walks us through his journey of ups and downs with some great stories! We guarantee this episode will cover all emotions from tough moments to hilarious ones. Just when we think fight nights couldn't get any crazier, here comes Columbus! Saturday we saw UFC Fight Night Blaydes Vs Daukaus bring some big title implications! Curtis Blaydes showed up big time with a huge KO victory! Askar Askarov and Kai-Kara France had an amazing fight that ended with Kai Kara-France potentially punching his ticket to a shot at the belt. With no fights to preview for the coming weekend, we then move into a Walkout Song Challenge! With such a light episode luckily the news came thru with alot of content. We had arrests and charges against Jorge Masvidal, Conor McGregor, and Chael Sonnen for different things. We also had some huge fight announcements that could lead to title fights later in the year. Talk about a night of fights!! Here we go after an amazing night of fights in London, we try to figure out what to make of it all. Tom Aspinall really showed out and we are here for it! Not only were there 9 out of 12 fights ending in finishes but it also set UFC Fight Night gate record! Big performances by all of the British fighter, among them, Arnold Allen also staked his claim with an amazing showing against Dan Hooker! We give our picks and predictions for this coming Saturday's UFC Fight Night Blaydes Vs Daukaus. This is card is headlined by Curtis Blaydes vs Chris Daukaus and also features a huge title implicated fight between Askar Askarov and Kai-Kara France! We push to wrap up one of our favorite series, the All Time MMA Teams. This week we cover a lot of ground by putting together our All Europe Team! With the main event having huge contender implications, we might have seen a front runner rise. Mogomed Ankalaev secures a unanimous victory over former title contender Thiago Santos. We discuss if he's ready for the title fight having won 8 in a row. Also in the co-main event we see another contender rise in Song Yadong, with his huge KO victory over Marlon Moraes. With Colby coming out on top but having 2 loses to the current champ, we throw around ideas on what could be next for him. We then move into talking about the co-main performance by Rafael dos Anjos, and what happened with Islam potentially stepping in for that fight. Afterwards we give our picks and predictions for UFC Fight Night Santos vs Ankalaev! That card also features a big fight with Marlon Moraes vs Song Yadong! We finish up with some news where we speak on the current situation with Cain Velazquez. Finally, a short discussion on what we think could help evolve judging in MMA! Another great weekend of fights, lets talk about it! We give an update on the local Colosseum Combat fights, which went great! We then give our recap for UFC Fight Night Green vs Makhachev. Islam had a great performance finishing Bobby in the first round. We discuss if that is enough to earn Islam the next shot at the 155 pound title. The card included a few very good fights that could put some fighters in possible contender position. Afterwards we give our picks and predictions for the highly anticipated UFC 272! Headlined by the bitter rivalry of Jorge Masvidal vs Colby Covington. Amongst that fight we ask the question if the beef between them is legit or just to sell the fight. Here we go again! Another huge fight week with UFC 271 on the horizon! But before we jump into 271, we talk about the fight between Sean Strickland vs Jack Hermansson. We discuss where Strickland fits in the middle weight title picture after his win. Afterwards we dive into a highly anticipated rematch with Robert Whittaker looking to challenge the reigning champion Israel Adesanya for the second time. The super stacked card also includes a couple fights that could lead to title implications! The co-main will feature Derrick Lewis vs Tai Tuivasa, before them it will be Derek Brunson vs Jared Cannonier! In today's episode we had the pleasure of talking to one of the best MMA promoters in Midwest, Mark Slater! He gave us the breakdown about the start of his fight promotion, Colosseum Combat. How he went from fighting in a cage, to booking some of the best talent in the region! Off that, he also gives us some great insight into the process of finding new venues and what it's like to deal with booking fighters. With some big changes coming in the form of new locations and great opportunity, this was a very fun interview! He also talks about his newest venture with his sports cards and memorabilia store. In which he's already doing monthly card shows, bringing professional athletes in to do signings! We are super thankful that he gave us a few moments of his time.
